Hong Kong Telecom ims (hktims) has selected Efficient Networks Inc. to provide S-Bus atm155

Hong Kong Telecom ims (hktims) has selected Efficient Networks Inc. to provide S-Bus atm155 adapters for delivering on- demand iTV (interactive TV) services. The end-to-end atm service is offered to 3000 Hong Kong users as part of a field trial. Efficient Networks` European headquarters, based in Amsterdam, is providing sales and support directly to hktims as part of the contract. hktims is using Efficient`s S-Bus atm155 adapter in Sun Microsystems application servers. The atm155 (OC-3) connection from the Efficient adapter connects to the Hong Kong Telephone Co.`s atm backbone network. The Hong Kong Telephone`s network infrastructure is made up of Fujitsu atm switches and nec broadband local-access equipment used in a fiber-to-the-building system. The fiber cable is terminated in the basement of high-rise residential buildings.
