NTT-AT cleaner uses replaceable thread
JULY 21, 2009 -- The replaceable cartridge enables reuse of the cleaner, avoiding disposal of the whole tool when the thread is due to be changed.
JULY 21, 2009 -- NTT-AT has launched a new antistatic fiber-optic cleaner, Neoclean-E, which will be exhibited at ECOC 2009 (Sept. 21-23, 2009) at the AMS Technologies booth (#307 in Hall X; search Lightwave for AMS Technologies).
Neoclean-E is a simplified pen-type cleaner with a replaceable cleaning cartridge, which allows the cleaning of the endfaces of fiber connectors and in-adapter ferrules. Residue on the endface of optical connectors can be removed by a simple push for consistent cleaning.
The replaceable cartridge enables reuse of the cleaner, avoiding disposal of the whole tool when the thread is due to be changed. More than 750 ferrule cleaning cycles per cartridge are possible.
The pen cleaner features a microfiber tissue that removes all contamination and secures it. Its antistatic property prevents static load that could bring new contamination after the cleaning.
The cleaner is used for applications such as cleaning of fiber-optic connector endfaces alone and connected in patch panels and adapters. Neoclean-E is suitable for cleaning of both PC and APC connectors; 1.25-mm and 2.5-mm versions are available.
The product is available from AMS Technologies throughout Europe from local offices in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
