2021 FTTXcellence Award nomination period opens

This year's award will be presented to the winner at the 2021 Fiber Connect conference and exhibition in Nashville, TN, which is being held July 25-28, 2021. Nominations will close at 11:59 PM EDT on April 16, 2021.

Corning Inc. (NYSE:GLW) and Lightwave have opened nominations for the 18th annual FTTXcellence Award. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in the deployment of fiber-optic access networks in the Americas. This year's award will be presented to the winner at the 2021 Fiber Connect conference and exhibition in Nashville, TN, which is being held July 25-28, 2021. Nominations will close at 11:59 PM EDT on April 16, 2021.

To be eligible for the award, candidates must be nominated by a peer. Nominees may include individuals at carriers and system operators, home developers, utilities, municipalities, or other organizations that have launched an FTTx project; individuals at vendors or research organizations whose work has benefited FTTx technology development; elected officials or policymakers who have made a significant positive impact in the regulatory or legal arena; and other deserving individuals. A panel of judges from Lightwave, Corning, and the Fiber Broadband Association will select the winner from the submitted nominations.

The winner will be honored with a donation in his or her name to US Ignite, a non-profit organization that is accelerating the smart city movement by guiding communities into the connected future, creating a path for private sector growth, and advancing technology research. The winner will also receive a decorative piece of Steuben glass and will be profiled by Lightwave.
