Sudatel to trial next-generation broadband technologies with Nokia

Nokia says it will provide fiber to the home (FTTH) and 4.5G and 5G mobile technology for a series of trials Sudatel plans to conduct in Sudan’s capital city of Khartoum. Sudatel will conduct the lab and field trials as part of its preparations to enact its 2020 Strategy, which will see significant upgrades in its fixed and mobile broadband infrastructure.

Sudatel will conduct the lab and field trials as part of its preparations to enact its2020 Strategy, which will see significant upgrades in its fixed and mobile broadband infrastructure.

The FTTH trials will see PON technology used to provide high-speed broadband to trial participants in Khartoum this month.

The mobile technology evaluations will leverage Nokia’sAirScale radio access portfolio.
