Sckipio supplies silicon for Cambridge Industries Group G.fast CPE

Broadband access network equipment ODM/JDM/OEM Cambridge Industries Group (CIG) plans to expand its activities into G.fast using silicon from Sckipio, the chip vendor says. G.fast customer premises equipment (CPE) using the G.fast chips will be on display at the Broadband World Forum 2015.

Broadband access network equipment ODM/JDM/OEM Cambridge Industries Group (CIG) plans to expand its activities into G.fast using silicon from Sckipio, the chip vendor says. G.fast customer premises equipment (CPE) using the G.fast chips will be on display at the Broadband World Forum 2015.

Headquartered in Shanghai, China, CIG specializes in carrier- and enterprise-grade CPE. These include EPON and GPON ONUs and ONTs, Wi-Fi and small cell products, products for xDSL applications, as well as smart home and Internet of Things.

"CIG is well known for its R&D skills which covers wired and wireless CPE especially for FTTx GPON," said Gerry Wong, chairman and CEO of CIG. "We aim to bring our scale, relationships, and expertise into the G.fast arena."

Startup Sckipio was the first company to introduce G.fast communications ICs for both CPE and distribution point units (see "").
