Calix: We're loved in Iowa
There’s nothing halfway about the Iowa way to treat you, according to the musical “The Music Man.” That’s certainly the case with Iowa and Calix Inc. (NYSE: CALX), as the access network equipment supplier has announced that it now has 100 customers in the state.
Danville Mutual Telephone Co. recently pushed Calix over the century mark in the state, where Calix has operated for more than a decade.
"Liberty Communications selected the Calix C7 back in 2001, as we began to roll out fiber in our network. With that selection, we became the second Calix customer in the company's history and it's first in Iowa," said Jerry Melick, president and general manager of Liberty Communications in West Liberty, IA. "As our network has transformed into a primarily fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) architecture, we have also added Calix E-Series solutions to our product mix. Throughout this 11-year partnership with Calix, their team has always had a vision for both their success as a company, as well as for our success as a service provider, looking beyond their hardware to support our business and help us reach our goals."
"Since Calix was founded, we have taken great pride in our personal approach to customers, truly partnering with them as they evolve their copper- and fiber-based networks," said John Colvin, Calix senior vice president of North America sales and marketing. "As their networks and businesses have transformed over time, Calix has transformed with them, extending our Unified Access portfolio to meet their changing network requirements. In Iowa, with the vast majority of our customers delivering broadband services over fiber, we look forward to continuing to support their vision as they roll out the next generation of advanced applications."
