ZTE has developed a new system based on ZENIC ONE, the optical line risk analysis system, to maintain user experiences and reduce operational costs. This system can identify the co-route risks, identify the degradation risks, and locate the fiber break points. Co-route fiber cables always exist because the network is a complex mesh. The ZENIC ONE system can find the co-cable risks by triggering OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) boards to detect and analyze the fiber cables and network topology. When a co-cable situation is found, the system automatically creates a Sharing Risk Link Group (SRLG). During path calculation, the working path and protection path will not use the fibers in the same SRLG, which reduces the manpower required for manual identification.
