Deutsche Telekom picks EXFO's OTDR and field-test platform for fiber deployments

November 2, 2005 Quebec City, Canada -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering announced today that it has been selected as sole-source supplier for all fiber deployment applications by Deutsche Telekom. The tier-1 European network operator opted for EXFO's Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), contained inside the company's modular FTB-400 field-test platform.

The multi-million dollar contract agreement is to extends over several years. EXFO says its advanced test platform will enable the deployment of optical fiber in the carrier's core and metro networks, as well as deeper into its access networks, to significantly increase bandwidth for residential and business customers.
