Segmentation and reassembly chip

The atm622-s segmentation and reassembly (sar) chip supports both 622- and 155-Mbit/sec data rates. This single-chip sar supports a range of atm service classes, including constant, variable, and unspecified bit rates. Other features include onboard 64-bit interface to the host, intelligent direct memory access, and on-the-fly checksum calculations for both transmit and receive. The ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL) 5 is supported in hardware, while AAL 3 and 4 and Null are supported in software.
