Fiber-optic modem

The model 8242 fiber-optic modem supports multipoint applications from office to factory environments. The fiber-optic capability protects data and hardware from the effects of emi/rfi, lightning surges, and ground loops. The modem features dual-fiber transmit and receive ports. Five operating modes allow the device to operate as a single master, dual master, point-to-point, broadcast, or link extender. The 3.39 ¥ 1.58 ¥ 4.92-inch unit provides full-duplex asynchronous communications at data rates to 64 kbits/sec.
