Bell Atlantic has signed a five-year, $1 billion agreement with Lucent Technologies, Warren, NJ, for the delivery of 5ess switch hardware and software products. The agreement is part of a strategy that will see a significant portion of Bell Atlantic`s network go from analog to digital as well as lay the infrastructure foundation for future advanced digital services.
