Nortel Japan, in Tokyo, has announced the imminent provision of a Japanese version of the s/dms TransportNode product line now available in other parts of the world through its parent company. The Japanese versions of the company`s OC-3 Express (155 Mbits/sec) and OC-48 2.5-Gbit/sec equipment are being developed in cooperation with Teleway Japan Corp. of Tokyo, which will also be the lead customer. The company plans to install the equipment in seven locations, including Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.
