Comcast Corp.`s cable-television customers in Philadelphia, PA, are now receiving digital cable service. Comcast Cable Communications Inc. of Philadelphia is offering 150 channels, interactive features, more than 25 premium channels, 35 pay-per-view channels, and commercial-free digital music channels over a fiber-optic network. According to Michael Doyle, senior vice president of Comcast Cable Communications, the fiber-optic platform will give viewers "an improved and consistently high-quality reception that isn`t compromised because of weather problems or other interference." The company also plans to offer customers Comcast@Home, a cable-modem-based, high-speed Internet access service.
