Nortel, Dallas, TX, will provide Frontier Corp. of Rochester, NY, with fiber-optic network

Nortel, Dallas, TX, will provide Frontier Corp. of Rochester, NY, with fiber-optic network switching systems in as many as 13 metropolitan sites by the end of 1998. Under the terms of the supply agreement, Nortel will provide Frontier with its dms-500 Local/Long-Distance switching systems and ServiceBuilder intelligent networking portfolio of products and services. Nortel`s switching systems are to work in tandem with Frontier`s existing local and long-distance switching. The corporation anticipates the agreement will allow it to accelerate its speed-to-market with competitive high-end products such as Virtual Private Network and Integrated Services Digital Network.
