Alcatel, in Richardson, TX, and Fundy Telecom, a division of Fundy Cable Ltd., St. John, NB, Canada, have completed a 2.4-Gbit/sec Synchronous Optical Network rings to serve the New Brunswick portion of Fundy`s maritime network. The rings, which provide high-capacity gateways to the United States, use Alcatel`s 4-fiber, bidirectional line-switched ring configuration.
