January 21, 2002--OPNET Technologies Inc today announced that Altamar Networks has selected OPNET's Netbiz technology to enhance network planning services for its flagship product, Titanium, an integrated, scalable transport system for the long-distance optical network.

"Our Netbiz application allows us to build sophisticated models of long-haul and ultra long-haul optical networks that minimize initial capital expenditures required by service providers and lower on-going operational costs, as well as optimize the operational features of our Titanium system," contends Marc Schwager, vice president of marketing for Altamar Networks.
