Genoa establishes Europe and Asia distributors

6 September 2002 -- Genoa Corp has established distribution partnerships for the European, Japanese and Korean markets in response to the growing use of linear optical amplifiers outside the USA.

6 September 2002 -- Genoa Corp - which was founded in 1998 in Fremont, CA, USA and supplies single-chip indium-phosphide-based linear optical amplifier technology (LOAs)
- has established distribution partnerships for the European, Japanese and Korean markets. This is in response to the growing use of LOAs outside the USA, it says.

"For cost, size and performance reasons, the LOA is a key enabler of optical systems for metro and access applications," said Jim Witham, VP of Sales and Marketing. "Many developers of these systems are located outside of the US."

Genoa is now represented throughout Europe by Laser 2000, which specialises in the photonics market and has operations in Germany, the UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Sweden.
In Japan, Genoa is represented by sales rep firm Optiwa and also has distributorships with Kanematsu Devices, Macnica I & C Company, and Unidux. In Korea, Genoa is represented by CoreTech Corp.

Genoa expects to announce further distribution relationships in additional markets within the next few months.
