16 May 2002 -- PennWell Corporation has appointed Michael Wolf as Publisher of Lightwave Europe magazine. Mr. Wolf was most recently international sales director, technology for McGraw-Hill's Business Week magazine.

Michael Wolf has previously held the position of managing director, international for Data Communications and tele.com magazines; and has held sales director positions for Telecommunications, Microwave Journal, Journal of Electronic Defense, and Communications magazines. He speaks German, and earned his B.A. in Art History and German from Leicester University. He holds memberships with the Institute of Directors; the Institute of Marketing; and the International Advertising Association.
