22 May 2002 -- New start-up Quantum Electronic Design and Innovation (QEDI) has been spun out of the Quantum Electronics research group of the UK's University of Leeds, headed by Paul Harrison.

QEDI aims to provide design and consultancy services to compound semiconductor industries and research labs. Also, QEDI intends to become a holding company for intellectual property and patents from its own independent research programs.

Expertise includes quantum implementations of logic, solid-state routes to quantum computers, solid-state devices for entangled photon production, entangled photons over fibre and single-atom quantum dots for optoelectronic applications.
