Corning partnered with Coriant to demonstrate 200-Gbps data center interconnect technology over 300 km without intermediate optical amplification or regeneration. Sergejs Makovejs, market development manager at Corning, describes the properties of the Corning SMF-28 ULL ultra low loss fiber the demo employed. Then we get the other side of the story from Maxim Kuschnerov, principal product manager at Coriant, who details the Cloudwave Optics technology that generated the 200-Gbps wavelength.
