Optical-fiber manufacturer Corning Inc., Corning, NY, has filed suit against FiberCore Inc., Charlton, MA, claiming that FiberCore Inc. has been using one of its patents to manufacture optical fiber and then sell the fiber in the United States. FiberCore released a statement saying Oit has not violated any Corning Optical Fiber patents and has not sold any fiber in the United States.O The company has also asked Corning to withdraw the lawsuit and make a public announcement about the withdrawal. The suit is filed in the U.S. District Court in Worcester, MA.
