Monitoring function

A monitoring function for the MW9070B mini-optical time-domain reflectometer facilitates remote monitoring of fiber-optic lines. A computer with monitoring software controls the unit and supplies the mini-otdr with basic data to conduct comparison measurements. A monitoring schedule is also loaded and eliminates the need for a separate computer to control the unit. The software also features a communications function, which allows public telephone lines or RS-232C interfaces to be used to send data from the computer to the mini-otdr. Price of the option is $2950, while the base price of the MW9070B device is $15,500.
