nternational FiberCom Inc., Phoenix, AZ, has signed a definitive purchase agreement to buy CA-based Riley Underground Communications Inc., a privately held telecommunications and cable-TV fiber-optic installation outsource provider. Riley specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of fiber-optic and broadband networks throughout the western United States. Its ongoing projects include upgrading TeleCommunications Inc.?s cable-TV system in Contra Costa County, CA, to a 750-MHz broadband fiber and coaxial-cable system; building local fiber network links for Brooks Fiber Inc. to support local telephone service in northern California; and upgrading Comcast Inc.?s cable-TV system in Sacramento County to a broadband fiber and coaxial-cable system.
