    The titan 5500 System optical ring manager allows the digital crossconnect system to be directly connected to multiple fiber-optic rings, enabling the surveillance and provisioning of other transport elements--primarily add/drop and terminal multiplexers--connected to the ring. This ring manager also will help protect the network from potential service interruptions caused by natural disasters.
