Tellabs Inc. (Lisle, IL) announced an agreement to provide its cablespan 2300 universal telephony distribution system to Priority Telecom, the newly launched competitive local-exchange carrier and integrated telephony services division of United Pan-Europe Communications (UPC--Amsterdam, Netherlands). The system will be deployed over UPC`s hybrid fiber-coaxial cable networks in Oslo by Priority Telecom and Janco Multicom (Norway), a UPC cable operator company. Priority Telecom will deploy the system under a three-year agreement estimated to be worth more than $50 million.
