Businesses on the Isle of Man, UK, can now connect to Esprit Telecom`s (London) pan-European digital fiber-optic network for free, thanks to an agreement between Esprit Telecom and Manx Telecom (Isle of Man, UK). Customers previously paid a per-call charge to access the Esprit Telecom network, which extends to 19 major cities across Europe.
Nokia Telecommunications (Helsinki, Finland) and Ji`An ptb (Jiangxi, China) recently signed an agreement to supply Nokia`s synfonet sdh solution, including stm-16 capability, to China Telecom. Nokia`s solution will support Ji`An ptb`s expanding fixed subscriber trunk traffic. Access networks in the province, which has a population of over 36 million people, will play an increasingly important role in the implementation of fixed subscriber expansions.
