The S18 pmd option allows polarization-mode dispersion measurements to be made in conjunction with chromatic dispersion measurements without moving the fiber under test. Used with the S18 chromatic dispersion measurement system, the option completes a chromatic dispersion and pmd measurement in less than two minutes, according to the manufacturer.
