Fiber-optic connectors

The SC Dual Contact (sc-dc) and SC Quad Contact (sc-qc) connectors use the standard SC footprint but contain multiple fibers in each ferrule. The sc-dc connector can terminate two fibers and the sc-qc can terminate four fibers in the same 2.5-mm ferrule. The connectors can accept single fibers (either 900-micron buffered fibers or 250-micron fibers), 2-fiber ribbon, or 4-fiber ribbon. The symmetrical design of the sc-dc connector does not require special plug-and-socket components. The ferrule has the same critical dimensions as the mt-rj ferrule.
