Variable-rate modem card

The Model 2212 modem card provides full-duplex point-to-point data communications over fiber distances to 50 km. This data link is designed for synchronous data operation from 1 kbit/sec to 50 Mbits/sec. Synchronous clock and data signals are input at one end of the link and output at the other. The unit includes a data-output squelch feature, which disables the receiver output data port if the user removes the input clock on the transmit end of the link or if the optical link is interrupted. It also features a wide-range clock asymmetry corrector, which corrects distorted input clock duty cycles more severe than 25/75 to the desired 50/50 output clock symmetry.
