Impact mount technology

The Impact Mount Technology can mechanically wrap metal around glass regardless of the size of the component. It can be used for fiber-optic connector terminations as well as optoelectronic device packaging. The technology allows device manufacturers to mount fiber pigtails onto their packaging devices by incorporating a miniature ferrule directly onto a bare fiber for both singlemode and multimode. This eliminates steps such as metal coating and soldering. The length of the ferrule can be as small as 1 mm.
