NorthEast Optic Network Inc. (Waltham, MA) signed a 20-year, $10 million indefeasible right-of-use contract with Network Plus Inc. (Quincy, MA). Under this agreement, Network Plus purchased NorthEast dark fibers on a route linking Boston; Nashua, NH; Springfield, MA; Hartford, CT; and New York City. NorthEast also signed a contract with HarvardNet (Portsmouth, NH) worth $1.2 million over five years. Under the agreement, HarvardNet leased backbone capacity to expand its ATM network throughout New England and connect to New York Internet peer points.
