Fiber-to-the-desk cabling system

The Volition fiber-optic cabling system consists of 16 technologies designed to deliver high-bandwidth applications directly to computer users. The VF-45 duplex interconnect is designed to feature the size and functionality of the 8-pin modular jack. Featuring a loose-tube buffer design and color- coded fibers, the Volition fiber-optic patch cord is crush resistant, and has smaller diameters than traditional fibers, according to the manufacturer. The media converter allows users to take advantage of high-bandwidth optical fiber in their cabling plant without replacing their existing nics and hubs. Also included are a patch panel with front and back access to 24 ports, as well as extension kits, a wall outlet and faceplate, and termination and cleaning kits. The system complies with iso-11801 and tia/eia-568a and the corresponding component standards.
