Industrial fiber-optic modem

The Model 8241 multimode fiber-optic modem is used in point-to-point applications in office-to-factory environments. The fiber-optic capability protects the data and hardware from the effects of emi/rfi, lightning/surges, and ground loops. The fiber transmitter port provides a 15-dB power budget for operation over distances of 4 km. The modem provides for full-duplex, asynchronous communications at data rates to 64 kbits/sec. The device is housed in a din rail case and can be mounted on any 35-mm rail.
