Fiber-optic polisher

The ut-minipol-1 is a fiber polishing system designed for small production and R&D type applications. Connector types that may be prepared by the system include SC, FC, ST, D4, sma, Biconic, and Bare-fibers. The system prepares both singlemode and multimode fibers for use in the communications industry. A factory-set reciprocating arm movement rides the rotating lap. The polisher, which can be powered by a 110 or 220v ac converter or a standard 12V battery, performs with backreflection from -55 to <65 db. Insertion loss is <0.3 db, fiber undercut is <50 nm.
