FiveCom Inc. (Waltham, MA) will spend $30 million to expand its New England Optical Network. The expansion will call for 380 mi of fiber-optic cable running from Nashua, NH, to Boston, from Nashua to Keene, NH, and from Keene to Amherst, NH, and Springfield, MA. The company also will install new lines from Hartford, CT, to other Connecticut towns and cities, such as New London, Stamford, Greenwich, Cheshire, and Norwalk, as well as to White Plains, NY. The company also initiated service in western Massachusetts via the provision of service in Springfield, MA.
