Local transport network

The TransXpress ALine multiservice local transport network consolidates voice and data traffic and transports it over a survivable fiber-optic ring. Through efficient use of existing local transport infrastructure and the consolidation of traffic, the unit requires fewer network interfaces. It provides N ¥ 64-kbit/sec service, fractional T1, and atm. Applications include Internet access, fax, e-mail, videoconferencing, and lan interconnect. Because ALine can be connected to copper- and optical-fiber-based equipment, it can consolidate traffic from dslam-type products.
