12 November 2003 Utica, NY Lightwave -- NetTest recently announced another addition to its CMA 5000 Multi-Layer Test Platform. The latest application (Model 5269) provides installers and telecommunication service providers of Gigabit Ethernet and other high data rate 50-micron multimode systems with the ability to characterize their networks easily and accurately.

NetTest's 50-micron Multimode OTDR module features dedicated 50-micron optics throughout that eliminate the need for cumbersome mandrel wraps and mode filling techniques to ensure accurate results, explain company representatives. Other key features include automated testing modes that reduce set-up time and eliminate user induced errors as well as complete loss test set options to arm the CMA 5000 with everything needed to test the fiber plant. With dead zones of only three meters and a dynamic range of over 24 dB, NetTest contends it makes testing any infrastructure easy.

"This latest addition to NetTest's OTDR product line reinforces the company's commitment to bringing its customers the best solutions possible to characterize their networks," says Ron Aharoni, director of marketing.
