Alcatel's first new development FTTH contract drives communications for Louisiana golf course community

7 October 2003 Dallas Lightwave--Alcatel announced an agreement with Squire Creek Communications, L.L.C. for the build-out of the Choudrant, Louisiana-based Squire Creek golf community's voice, video, and high-speed data communications network.

Alcatel won the contract to supply the standards-based residential passive optical network (PON) equipment, the Alcatel 7340 FTTU (Fiber-to-the-User), because of its low-risk implementation, high capacity, and superior value versus cable. Squire Creek residents already are enjoying the benefits of these advanced, fiber-fed connections.

Squire Creek Communications is a development model for residential fiber-to-the-home. Squire Creek community members will be able to access the Internet at blazing speeds, watch a variety of video programming, and maintain superior voice and fax communications simultaneously over optical fiber.
