Hubbell Premise Wiring has introduced a new Fiber Optic Visible Fault Finder Kit that provides the installer/troubleshooter with a dual laser visible light source to locate excessive bends, kinks, and breaks in fiber-optic cables. The hand-held Visible Fault Finder Kit is also ideally suited for optimizing splices and MT-RJ pre-polished connectors during field termination.

It contains two independently switchable 635-nm visible laser sources built in, an industry first for this type of tester, say company representatives. The two laser sources may be operated in continuous (CW( mode or modulated at 3 Hz (flashing(, 500 Hz, and 2 kHz, so the unit can be used as a tracer signal generator in conjunction with most popular fiber identifiers or optical leak detection probes.

It is AC or battery powered and comes with a fully rechargeable battery with status indication and quick-charging features. The unit has an MT-RJ output port and the kit includes an MT-RJ patch cord and assembly clip for terminating pre-polished MT-RJ connectors. It comes in a durable waterproof carrying case with a plastic laminated instruction booklet.
