Micromuse Inc. (Nasdaq: MUSE), a provider of realtime fault management and service assurance software, announced that Hutchison GlobalCenter, an Asian provider of managed hosting services and e-business solutions, has implemented the Netcool suite. Hutchison GlobalCenter is utilizing Micromuse's flagship Netcool/OMNIbus application and the Netcool/Internet Service Monitors (Netcool/ISMs) suite to provide information about the status of data across its fiber-optic network to operators in Hutchison GlobalCenter's Hong Kong-based Network Operation Center.

Hutchison GlobalCenter is utilizing the Netcool suite as a central management solution to help expand network availability and service quality, as well as to provide reliable, realtime monitoring of its internal systems, servers and infrastructure components. The Netcool/OMNIbus suite monitors server performance and SNMP data along with the tracking of systems, security and application logs. The Netcool/ISMs suite ascertains service-level performance and compares this data against predefined service-level agreements to show performance of various Internet service performance metrics. Hutchison GlobalCenter is using the Netcool/ISMs suite to monitor several different types of device protocols including DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, and ICMP.

Working in concert, the Netcool applications gather and consolidate data on the status of equipment and services, enabling network operations teams to simultaneously view information from throughout the infrastructure. This helps network operators to identify and manage infrastructure problems before they cause applications or services to go down.

Micromuse's Netcool software suite collects management data from more than 300 management environments and network devices, including voice, data and Internet. Fault data is rapidly processed and filtered by the Netcool ObjectServer, an in-memory database. The Netcool suite helps operators to build views of service availability in realtime, helping them manage networks more efficiently. Because it is scalable and deploys rapidly, the Netcool suite helps service providers expand their networks as their markets grow.
