Global Crossing to provide Microsoft network in Europe

Aug. 8, 2001--Global Crossing Ltd. announced a two-year contract with Microsoft Corp. to provide broadband services interconnecting nine of Microsoft's European hubs.

Global Crossing Ltd. (NYSE: GX) announced a two-year contract with Microsoft Corp. to provide broadband services interconnecting nine of Microsoft's European hubs, carrying the company's vital day-to-day business communications among its European locations and the company's corporate headquarters in Redmond, WA.

In addition to providing direct fiber, Global Crossing will deliver management, service and support Microsoft requires. Global Crossing will provide a broadband backbone network connecting Amsterdam; Brussels; Dublin; Les Ulis, France; London; Munich; Reading, UK; Stockholm, Zurich and Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
