SureWest Broadband, formerly RCS Digital, has signed an agreement with McClellan Business Park to become the park's preferred provider of telecommunications services. This agreement supports the efforts of SureWest Broadband's parent company, SureWest Communications (OTC:SURW), to further diversify the corporation into competitive markets. At the park, SureWest Broadband will market a full complement of voice, data and Internet services through a diversified fiber-optic network, which will be supported by an on-site data center to ensure that the business customers have accessible and reliable service.
SureWest Communications, previously known as Roseville Communications, and the parent company of the 86-year old Roseville Telephone Company, is recognized as a provider of advanced communications services in the greater Sacramento area, including wireless, Internet, DSL, long distance, fiber optic networks and directory services.
Through the agreement, SureWest Broadband has acquired the existing conduit system from McClellan Park. They have already begun rebuilding the infrastructure by extending their fiber-optic network throughout the park. This network will enable tenants to easily plug into high-speed Internet connections and access other types of high-speed communications services.
The business park in the Sacramento metropolitan area encompasses 3,000 acres. It has eight million square feet of existing space, of which 1.5 million is currently leased. The park will expand to 17 million square feet when built out.
