Hippi modem

Model 1240 fiber-optic Hippi modem increases the interconnect distance of one Hippi parallel channel from 25 meters to at least 10 km. The modem provides a 1.2-gigabaud fiber-optic transmission link and upholds a bit-error rate of at least 10-14. It accepts standard 100 p-i-n Hippi connectors with parallel data and control signals. The standard package is available as a tabletop unit; a 19-inch rack-mount conversion kit is supplied with each modem.
