Digital crossconnect

Fonorola, Montreal, a Canadian reseller of telecommunications services, is deploying the Tellabs Titan 5500 digital crossconnect system to deliver high-speed data, video and local area network/wide area network services to customers in Canada and the United States beginning this summer. The initial order is in excess of $2 million (Canadian). To assess and respond to Fonorola`s requirements for digital signal, level 3, restoration and protection against network failure for its customers, Tellabs worked with Northern Telecom and Bosch Telecom. Northern Telecom supplies optical carrier, level 48, synchronous transmission systems, and Bosch Telecom produces the RPS-370 intelligent protection switch
