Fiber-cable assembly

Volex Inc., Dartmouth, MA, a subsidiary of Volex Group plc., has increased its fiber-optic cable assembly laboratories and production space in Milpitas, CA, and Castlebar, Ireland, to 5000 and 4500 square feet, respectively. Both laboratories are equipped with Seikoh-Giken high-speed optical polishers. Volex also equipped the labs with return-loss and insertion-loss test equipment from Camarillo, CA-based Rifocs Corp. Each laboratory will have the capability to build and test more than 1000 cable assemblies per day.
