Mexican fiber
Mexican cable-TV companies are expected to begin deploying thousands of kilometers of fiber-optic cable in 1996. To date, Mexican cable-TV companies have installed fiber-optic cable in 15 cities. Most of the fiber cable is for trunk lines and totals about 100 km. There are approximately 2000 homes per node, but companies are moving toward 500-home nodes.
