DS-1 distribution system
The Microfox hub fiber-optic multiplexer distributes DS-1 traffic over optical DS-2 extensions from the carrier`s central office in remote customer locations. The hub accepts 20 electrical DS-1 lines and multiplexes them to seven optical DS-2 extensions. The remote Microfox hub distributes the traffic received from an optical DS-2 to eight electrical DS-1 lines.
