Fiber-cable delivery

Siecor Corp., Hickory, NC, is delivering commercial optical-fiber cable from its Winston-Salem plant. The cable has been purchased by Southern Bell for use in its fiber-optic network in the Winston-Salem area. The 48-fiber cable serves interoffice loop diversity for the Lexington Road Wire Center, enabling Southern Bell to provide voice and data services to businesses. The cable will also be part of the North Carolina Information Highway infrastructure.
