Fiber monitoring and test system

FMTS-72 real-time fiber-monitoring and test system provides online monitoring of optical power for 72 fibers in a single 14-inch high rack-mounted chassis and alerts users to signs of power loss through programmable minor and major alarms. The chassis houses 36 monitor and access cards, two power supplies and a shelf controller card. Each card has two input/output ports and two test-access ports. The device has a 60-dB dynamic range. Fiber units can be stacked in a standard 7-foot, 23-inch equipment rack. Data from the cards can be multiplexed and transmitted to the central office.
