Joint development agreements

Norcross, GA-based Scientific-Atlanta Inc. and Optical Transmission Labs Inc., an affiliate of Synchronous Communications Inc., San Jose, CA, have signed long-term sales, marketing and product development agreements for advanced fiber-optic transmission products. The agreements combine marketing, engineering and manufacturing strengths of Scientific-Atlanta with the development of 1550-nanometer interconnect and advanced optical technologies from Optical Transmission Labs. Scientific-Atlanta will sell such products as 1550-nm externally modulated optical transmitters and erbium-doped fiber amplifiers.
